The KTU-2500 is the fast-acting member of Bussmann's Class L family, built for large feeders and service equipment where the load is mostly non-inductive and there is no motor inrush to ride through. Without a time-delay element, it clears overloads and faults quickly, which makes it a common choice for protecting downstream switchgear, busway and transformer secondaries in commercial buildings. Because it bolts into the fuse holder instead of clipping in, a replacement means a planned outage, and swapping in a time-delay Class L fuse would change coordination with the devices above and below it. If maintain equipment already specified for KTU fuses, stocking a matching spare avoids re-engineering the protection scheme. It's sold as tested surplus.
