More Details

Three hundred amps is one of the less common renewable fuse ratings, which is why the RES-300 can be hard to find now that Bussmann has discontinued its Super-Lag line. It installs in 400A-size knife-blade clips at 600 volts and is used in older industrial switches, often on motor feeders, where the Super-Lag time characteristic helps it ride through starting current. The renewable design lets maintenance staff replace the internal link after the fuse opens, though many facilities keep complete spare fuses on hand to shorten outages. Because Class H renewable fuses are rated only 10 kA, confirm the available fault current before reinstalling one in a system that has had transformer or service upgrades.
