This is an I-Line plug-in breaker. It lands on the I-Line bus stabs in a Square D I-Line panelboard or switchboard and will not mount in a bolt-on panelboard. Three K-frame variants exist at this rating and they are not interchangeable: KA36125 is I-Line, KAP36125 is unit mount bolt-on, and KAL36125 is unit mount feed-thru with lugs at both ends. The high-interrupting I-Line version is KH36125 at 35 kA / 480V.

The Square D K-frame is legacy product, crossed to the PowerPacT J-Frame in current catalogs, which requires a panel change rather than a swap. ESP stocks all three K-frame mounting variants at this rating.

Square D built the K frame at 125 amperes in three mountings and two interrupting classes, and the catalog number is the only way to tell them apart. KA is I-Line plug-on. KAP is unit mount with bolts. KAL is feed-thru with lugs at both ends. KH is the high-interrupting I-Line version at 35 kA against this one's 25. That is four ways to order the wrong part at the right amperage, which is why the mounting belongs in the first line of any listing rather than buried in a spec table. The magnetic element is adjustable. The PowerPacT J-Frame is the modern crossover and needs new gear. Reconditioned, tested, one-year operational guarantee.
