The KM trip unit is interchangeable, so the ampere rating comes from the element rather than the frame. Related catalog numbers separate the two explicitly — KM3-F800 is the frame alone with no trip fitted, and KM3-T600 and KM3-T800 are trip units sold separately. KM3-T800 is a trip unit. KM3B800 is the complete assembly. Published interrupting ratings for this frame vary by build, from 22 kA to 50 kA at 480 volts. Where that figure is carrying a coordination study, read the nameplate rather than a catalog. Siemens has no drop-in successor. Gear built around KM breakers is maintained with tested originals.
