This unit is sold reconditioned, inspected and tested to ESP Product Standards, and guaranteed to operate normally for one year from the date of sale.

The trip unit in an MA-frame breaker is interchangeable, so the ampere rating stamped on the trip element governs, not the frame. Read the trip unit rating when receive the breaker and confirm it matches the application before energizing.

The Westinghouse MA frame is obsolete. It was superseded by the MDL3600, which does not fit an MA opening. Where the original panelboard is staying, a reconditioned MA3600 is a drop-in; a retrofit is the alternative. ESP stocks tested units for Westinghouse PRL4 panelboards and switchboards still in service.

Westinghouse stopped building the MA frame long enough ago that most of the installed base is now maintained rather than expanded. That is the whole market for this breaker: a PRL4 panelboard or a switchboard that is otherwise sound, with one 600-amp position that needs filling. The replacement Eaton offers is the MDL3600, and it will not go into an MA opening. Retrofitting means new gear or an adapter, which is why a tested original still moves at this rating. The trip unit is interchangeable, so verify the element rating on arrival. Shunt trips and auxiliary switches can be added in the field by someone who has done it before. Reconditioned, tested, one-year guarantee.
