More Details

Class J fuses deliver current-limiting protection close to Class RK1 in a much smaller body, which is why they're common in compact fused disconnects, industrial control panels and OEM equipment. The A4J400 is Mersen's fast-acting version at 400 amps. It has no intentional time delay, so it's applied to feeders, transformers and non-motor loads, or wherever the goal is to limit let-through energy as much as possible. Class J dimensions are unique to the class, so lower-rated fuses can't be substituted into the holder. It is rated 600 VAC and 300 VDC with 200 kA AC interrupting capacity.
