More Details

Renewable fuses come from an earlier generation of switchgear, but many are still in service in older plants, mills and institutional buildings. The Bussmann RES-600 is a Super-Lag renewable Class H fuse: after it opens, the blown element is replaced with a new renewal link instead of discarding the whole cartridge. Its time-lag characteristic tolerates motor starting current better than ordinary one-time Class H fuses. Check two limits before ordering. The 10 kA interrupting rating is far below modern current-limiting fuses, so it belongs only where available fault current is low. It also won't fit Class R rejection clips. Bussmann has discontinued the RES line, so surplus stock like this is one of the few remaining ways to match an existing installation.
