Switched neutral, not a three-phase breaker. On the QO-SWN the third pole switches the grounded conductor rather than protecting a third ungrounded phase, so the device opens all grounded and ungrounded conductors simultaneously. It is not a substitute for a QO320 on a three-phase branch. Schneider discontinued the catalog number on 11 March 2022.

More Details

Switched-neutral breakers solve a narrow problem: circuits where the grounded conductor has to open with the ungrounded ones, so that nothing downstream stays referenced to the system when the breaker is off. Health care isolated-power work, certain signage and sign-lighting circuits, and some legacy control schemes were all written around that behaviour. Schneider discontinued the QO320SWN in March 2022, and because the switching pole is built into the case there is no field conversion and no current replacement in the QO line. That makes the surplus channel the only channel. Each unit is tested for trip function on the protected poles and for continuity through the neutral pole.

What is "surplus new"?

Surplus new means the item has never been installed or put into service. It may not arrive in its original packaging, but it has never been used.

What does "reconditioned" mean?

Reconditioned items have been inspected, cleaned, and tested to confirm they operate to the manufacturer's original specifications. Every reconditioned item we sell carries a one-year operational guarantee.
