This device is a switch, not a breaker. The QO200 provides no overcurrent or short-circuit protection. It is a non-automatic disconnect that mounts in a QO breaker space and is switched by hand. Overcurrent protection for the circuit must be provided somewhere else. Do not substitute it for a QO260 or any other protective device.

Non-automatic switches like the QO200 exist to give an electrician a disconnecting means inside a load center without spending a separate enclosure on it. The device takes a standard two-pole QO breaker space and switches sixty amps by hand, but it will not trip: there is no thermal element and no magnetic element inside it. Common uses are equipment disconnects, isolation for service work, and load transfer arrangements where the overcurrent device sits upstream.
