This is an original Federal Pacific Stab-Lok breaker — the part the panel was built around — inspected and tested to ESP Product Standards, individually tested to confirm it trips before it ships, and backed by a one-year operational guarantee.The widely sold alternative is the Connecticut Electric UBIF series, newly manufactured by a third party and ETL listed to UL 489 at 10,000 AIC as a compatible replacement rather than an original part. Both have a case.

Check thick versus thin before ordering. Federal Pacific built the Stab-Lok line in two body widths and a load center takes them in different positions. Type NA is the thick series; type NC is the thin. They carry the same ampere ratings and the same catalog logic — NA250 and NC250 are both two-pole fifty-ampere breakers — but they are not interchangeable in the panel. This is the thick series.

Federal Pacific Stab-Lok breakers are out of production.Type NA is the THICK series — Stab-Lok load centers accept thick and thin breakers in different positions, and the two are not interchangeable. Connecticut Electric distinguishes them the same way in its UBIF replacement line. ESP stocks tested original units for Stab-Lok panels still in service.

Stab-Lok panels are still in service in thousands of homes, and the original breakers stopped being made decades ago. Two things are available today. Connecticut Electric's UBIF line is newly manufactured by a third party and ETL listed as a compatible replacement. This is the other option: an original unit, made for this panel, individually tested to confirm it trips before it ships. The one thing to get right is the body width. Type NA is thick, type NC is thin, and a Stab-Lok load center takes them in different positions. Same ampere ratings, same numbering, different part. Ten kiloamperes interrupting, HACR rated, one-year operational guarantee.
