The Square D KAL36250 is a three-pole K-frame molded case circuit breaker rated 250 amperes at 600V AC and 250V DC, with interrupting capacities of 42 kA at 240V, 25 kA at 480V, 22 kA at 600V, and 10 kA at 250V DC. Protection is thermal-magnetic with a fixed thermal element and an adjustable instantaneous magnetic trip settable from 1250 to 2500 amperes, allowing the breaker to be coordinated with downstream devices rather than run at a factory-fixed pickup.

The unit ships with AL250KA lugs installed, rated Cu/Al for #4 AWG through 350 kcmil at 250 lb-in — most sellers of this frame supply the breaker bare and sell lugs separately. HACR rated, 40°C, UL Listed under Issue No. 186 with CSA and NOM/ANCE approvals. Suited to feeder and main positions in Square D QED switchboards, motor control centers, panelboards, and standalone enclosures.
