This unit is sold reconditioned, inspected and tested to ESP Product Standards, and guaranteed to operate normally for one year from the date of sale.

Fusematic is a current-limiting design. Integral limiters work with the breaker mechanism to reach the 100 kA rating. Limiters that have operated must be replaced before the breaker holds its published interrupting capacity — verify their condition wherever that rating is load-bearing in a study.

Federal Pacific and American XM-frame devices are out of production with no drop-in modern equivalent. ESP stocks tested reconditioned units for FPE and American switchboards still in service.

More Details

Two hundred fifty amperes at 600 volts with a 100 kA interrupting rating is an unusual combination, and it exists because of how the Fusematic frame is built. Integral limiters clear fault current the breaker mechanism alone could not, which is why this device appears on high-fault-current services where the frame size would otherwise be undersized. Limiter condition is therefore part of the rating, not an accessory question. Confirm it before the 100 kA number is relied on. Nothing currently manufactured drops into an XM opening. FPE and American gear carrying these breakers is maintained with tested originals. Reconditioned, one-year operational guarantee.

What is "surplus new"?

Surplus new means the item has never been installed or put into service. It may not arrive in its original packaging, but it has never been used.

What does "reconditioned" mean?

Reconditioned items have been inspected, cleaned, and tested to confirm they operate to the manufacturer's original specifications. Every reconditioned item we sell carries a one-year operational guarantee.
