This is a motor circuit protector, not a circuit breaker. It has a magnetic trip only and no thermal element, so it provides no overload protection. It is listed for use in a combination motor controller with a separate overload relay, and must not be applied as a branch-circuit breaker.

Each unit is inspected and tested to ESP Product Standards and backed by a one-year operational guarantee.

The FHP (F-frame) Mag-Gard line is out of production. ESP stocks tested reconditioned units for Square D combination motor controllers still in service.

The FHP3605016M is a 3-pole 50-ampere FHP device rated for 600V AC, built for Square D combination motor controllers. Its protection characteristic is fixed at the factory and is not adjustable in the field. Buying reconditioned keeps an existing board in service without the cost, lead time and outage window that replacing the interior would demand. A motor circuit protector is not a circuit breaker with a different label. It has no thermal element at all, which means it will not respond to a sustained overload — only to a short circuit. UL lists it exclusively as part of a combination motor controller, where a separate overload relay handles the thermal side. Installed as a branch device on its own, it leaves the load with no overload protection whatsoever.
