This frame has a 600 A trip unit installed. The frame carries the interrupting rating and the footprint; the installed 600 A element sets the rating, with magnetic pickup adjustable from 1800 to 6000 A. GE built the J600 line this way deliberately, and other elements from 250 to 600 amperes fit the same frame.

GE has announced end of life for the J600 thermal-magnetic line. ESP stocks tested reconditioned J600 frames, trip units and complete breakers.
