This unit is sold reconditioned, inspected and tested to ESP Product Standards, and guaranteed to operate normally for one year from the date of sale.

This is a frame, not a complete breaker. It carries the interrupting rating and the mounting footprint and provides no overcurrent protection until a trip unit is installed. The complete breaker at this rating is LA3400, without the F. Terminals are also not standard on the LA frame. ESP confirms what is in the box — frame, element and lugs — before shipping.

The Westinghouse LA frame is obsolete with no modern drop-in equivalent. ESP stocks tested reconditioned LA-frame units, frames and trip units for legacy Westinghouse and Cutler-Hammer gear still in service.

Westinghouse sold the LA as a platform. The frame carried the short-circuit withstand, the trip unit set the ampere rating, and terminals were a third line on the order. Decades later that means surplus LA stock turns up in every combination, and the catalog number is the only reliable guide. An F on the end says frame. No element, no rating, no protection until one goes in. What it does have is the part that is hardest to find: an intact 400-amp mechanism with 30 kA at 480 volts behind it. ESP confirms the contents before shipping. Reconditioned, tested, one-year operational guarantee.
