Mark 75 is the high-interrupting rating and it is what distinguishes this from a plain FB3090. HFB clears 75,000 A asymmetrical at 480 volts; the standard frame at the same 90-ampere rating clears considerably less. The two look alike and mount identically, so where a short-circuit study calls for the higher figure the catalog number has to be verified rather than the amperage. The Eaton Series C HFD is the electrically interchangeable modern part.

The Westinghouse Mark 75 F frame is obsolete with no drop-in equivalent in the original form factor. ESP stocks tested reconditioned Mark 75 units for legacy Westinghouse gear still in service.

Ninety amperes is a modest rating and 75,000 amperes asymmetrical is not, which is the tension this breaker was built to resolve. Mark 75 was Westinghouse's answer to services where fault current had outgrown the standard frames. That combination is also why the part is worth seeking out rather than substituting. A plain FB3090 will carry the same load and will not survive the same fault, and the two are indistinguishable once the panel cover is on. Eaton's Series C HFD is electrically interchangeable if are moving to current product. Where the panelboard stays, a tested original goes straight back in.
