The 00S01 accessory code denotes a factory-installed 120 VAC shunt trip, which opens the breaker on a signal from a remote contact — emergency power-off, fire alarm interlock, remote shutdown. The coil is fitted at the factory and cannot be added to a plain BQ2B040 in the field. Confirm the coil voltage against the control circuit before ordering.

A shunt trip turns a breaker into something a control system can operate. Energize the coil and the mechanism opens, which is how an emergency stop, a fire alarm relay or a remote shutdown contact takes a circuit down without anyone at the panel. Codes drive most of the demand, and because the coil is fitted at the factory there is no field retrofit for the BQ frame: replacing a failed one means finding the same catalog number with the same accessory code. Each unit is tested for overcurrent trip on both poles and for shunt coil operation, and each covered by the ESP one-year operational guarantee.
