Anything that changes those — a different pole count, a mounting style the panel will not take, a conductor outside the terminal range — makes the part wrong however closely the catalog number matches. The rating suits branch protection inside standalone enclosures, control panels and equipment skids. Each unit is tested before shipment and covered by the one-year guarantee. Where the existing panel schedule is unreliable, the breaker face is the better record.
