This unit is sold reconditioned, inspected and tested to ESP Product Standards, and guaranteed to operate normally for one year from the date of sale.

Two-pole and feed-thru. This unit mounts with lugs at both ends rather than plugging onto I-Line bus stabs, and it carries two poles rather than three. The 3-pole version is LAL36400 and the I-Line plug-on version is LA36400 — three different catalog numbers at the same 400-ampere rating, none of them interchangeable in the panel.

The Square D L-frame is legacy product, replaced in current catalogs by the PowerPacT LJ series. ESP stocks tested reconditioned L-frame units for panelboards and switchboards still in service.

More Details

Two-pole at 400 amperes narrows the field considerably. Most L-frame stock is three-pole, so a corner-grounded delta service or a DC application needing two poles has to look harder. Feed-thru construction adds the second distinction. Lugs at both ends let the breaker sit mid-run rather than at the end of a bus, which is why these appear in switchboards where a plug-on device did not suit the layout. The magnetic element is adjustable. The PowerPacT LJ series succeeds the L-frame and will not fit the opening. Reconditioned, tested, one-year operational guarantee.
