This is a two-pole device.ITE put the pole count in the digit after the frame letters: JL2B is two poles, JL3B is three. Will find the three-pole JL3B range elsewhere in this catalog at the same ampere ratings. A two-pole breaker in a three-pole position is a return.

Two poles at 150 amperes narrows the field. Most JL-frame stock is three-pole, so a corner-grounded delta service, a two-wire feeder or a DC application that needs exactly two poles has thin options and pays for them. ITE encoded the pole count in a single digit, which is how listings in this family end up wrong. Read the nameplate rather than the amperage. The JL frame runs to 400 amperes, so a 150-ampere trip inherits withstand above what the load requires. Siemens has no drop-in successor. Reconditioned, tested, one-year operational guarantee.
