Four catalog numbers, one breaker. The third digit in an NEF number is a factory variant, not a rating - NEF431070 is the same device as NEF433070, NEF435070, NEF437070. Where the panel schedule lists any of the four, this unit fits. What the number does carry is the pole count in the second digit and the amperage in the last three. The NEF range is 480 volts throughout, clearing 14 kA at 480 and 18 kA at 240.

Federal Pacific NEF-frame breakers are out of production with no modern drop-in equivalent from the original manufacturer. Connecticut Electric UBIF-series units are sold as verified substitutes. ESP stocks tested reconditioned NEF units across the pole and amperage range for legacy FPE and American NEF panelboards still in service.
