This unit is sold reconditioned, inspected and tested to ESP Product Standards, and guaranteed to operate normally for one year from the date of sale.

JA is the standard-interrupting J-frame. It clears 22 kA at 480 volts; the JD at the same 200-ampere rating clears 35 kA and the HJD higher again. All three mount the same way and look much alike, so a coordination study specifying the higher figure is not satisfied by this catalog number. Verify the letters, not the amperage.

The Westinghouse JA frame is obsolete, superseded by the Eaton Series C JD which does not fit a JA opening. ESP stocks tested reconditioned J-frame units for legacy Westinghouse panelboards, switchboards and motor control centers.

Westinghouse built the J frame in several interrupting classes and sold them all at 200 amperes. JA is the standard one at 22 kA and 480 volts. JD clears 35 kA. HJD goes higher still. None of that shows on the front of the case, which is why the catalog number is the specification here rather than the ampere rating. A panel engineered around a JA takes a JA. The magnetic element is adjustable, useful on motor feeders where inrush and fault current sit close together. Eaton's Series C JD replaced the frame and needs a retrofit. Reconditioned, tested, one-year operational guarantee.
