Read the letter and the voltage digit. On the ITE E-frame the digits after the series carry the voltage class and pole count — 2 is the voltage and the next digit the poles — and the letter is the device type. B is a thermal-magnetic breaker with full overload protection; A on the same frame is an ETI motor circuit protector with magnetic trip only and none. They look identical. ESP stocks both.

The ITE E-frame preceded the Siemens Sentron ED line and is out of production. Siemens publishes ED-frame cross-references for some ratings, but they do not drop into an E-frame opening. ESP stocks tested reconditioned E-frame breakers and ETI motor circuit protectors across the range.

More Details

ITE built the E-frame in two devices that share a case and do not share a function. The B series is a thermal-magnetic breaker. The A series is an ETI motor circuit protector — magnetic trip only, sized to a motor rather than a feeder, with the thermal job handed to the starter's heater overloads. They look identical. That is not a figure of speech; it is the warning the trade presses on buyers of this family. This is the thermal-magnetic breaker. It carries full long-time and instantaneous protection. The digits carry the rest: voltage class, then pole count, then the ampere rating in the last three characters. Reconditioned, tested, one-year operational guarantee.

What is "surplus new"?

Surplus new means the item has never been installed or put into service. It may not arrive in its original packaging, but it has never been used.

What does "reconditioned" mean?

Reconditioned items have been inspected, cleaned, and tested to confirm they operate to the manufacturer's original specifications. Every reconditioned item we sell carries a one-year operational guarantee.
