Read the letter before the amperage. On the ED frame the series letter is the device type - B is a thermal-magnetic breaker with full overload protection, A is an ETI motor circuit protector with magnetic trip only and none. They share the case, the mounting and the footprint. The two digits before the letter carry the voltage class and the pole count: this is ED23, 240V AC, 3-pole.

Siemens continues the Sentron ED frame in current production and publishes 3VA cross-references, but legacy ITE-branded units remain the exact fit for older panelboards. ESP stocks tested reconditioned ED-frame breakers and ETI motor circuit protectors across the range.

More Details

Two digits and a letter carry everything on this frame. The voltage class, the pole count and the device type all sit in the catalog number, and the amperage is only the last three characters. The B series is the thermal-magnetic breaker with full overload protection. The A series on the same frame is an ETI motor circuit protector with magnetic trip only and no thermal element - ESP stocks both, and they are not substitutes for one another. Bolt-on, load lug connection, 14-10 AWG copper or 12-10 AWG aluminum. Reconditioned, tested, one-year operational guarantee.

What is "surplus new"?

Surplus new means the item has never been installed or put into service. It may not arrive in its original packaging, but it has never been used.

What does "reconditioned" mean?

Reconditioned items have been inspected, cleaned, and tested to confirm they operate to the manufacturer's original specifications. Every reconditioned item we sell carries a one-year operational guarantee.

How fast will my order ship?

In-stock orders placed before 12pm PST usually ship the same business day via UPS, with tracking provided.
