This is a MAIN breaker, not a branch device. The Federal Pacific Type 2B series is the main disconnect for Stab-Lok load centers and NBLP panelboards — it bolts in at the service position rather than plugging onto a branch stab. Ten thousand amperes interrupting at 240 volts, load side lug terminals, long-time and instantaneous trip.

Federal Pacific Type 2B mains are out of production. Connecticut Electric lists a UBIF2200N as a replacement for the 200-ampere rating; the smaller ratings have no new equivalent. ESP stocks tested originals across the range.

A Stab-Lok service panel needs a main, and Federal Pacific stopped making them decades ago. The Type 2B is that part: a two-pole main disconnect that bolts in at the service position of a Stab-Lok load center or an NBLP panelboard. Ten thousand amperes interrupting at 240 volts, load side lugs, long-time and instantaneous trip. Mains are the hardest position to fill on an obsolete panel, because a branch breaker can sometimes be worked around and a main cannot. ESP tests each one to confirm it trips before it ships. One-year operational guarantee.
